Charles R. Whitman was in Marshall Monday, attending to a lawsuit. Mr?. V. C. Vaughan returned from her visit in Missouri Monday evening. James Ribison, of the Detroit Free Press, was in Ann Arbor Monday. Prof. W. 41. Osband, the new editor ot the Ypsilantian, was in Ann Arbor Monday. Robert Mann went to Detroit Saturday to help his brother Cnarles in the drug store. Miss Mary Bischoff is making a two weeks' visit with relaĆ¼ves and friends in Detroit. The Misees Fewens of Detroit, guests of Mr?. E"llis of Main-st, returned home Monday. John Harpfer, of Detroit, spent Sunday at Mr. Burchfield's, where he was formerly cutter. Mrs. A. E. Gregsr visited relatives in Albion the past week. Her mother, Mrs. Sarah Bowen, returned with her. Miss Mamie Bruegel has resigned her position in Mr. Haas' school in Detroit, and is now at her home in Ann Arbor. Miss Carrie Britton, who has been visiting MissB'rdie Bliss for a week or more, returned to her home in Detroit Monday. F. D Ford, Mart Reynoldf", A. Van Duzer, W. N. Brainerd, and Mart King catne from Saline Monday 10 hear Roland Reed. Dr. W. W. N:ehols and wife returned last Thursday evening from their wedding trip, and are at their rooms in the Maeonic b'iock. Martin Clark is on a business trip in central and southern Michigan, also in Cnicago in the interest of The Physician and Surgeon. Supt. Perry of the high school will go to Jackson next Saturday to attend a meeting of the state counci! of the teachers' reading circle. Fay Dillon, who recently sold the Petoskey Democrat, and who formerly was a compositor in The Register office, is visiting in this city. Hudson EL Ellis gave a very pltaant party at his home on Main-st, Fnday evening. Abcut 15 couples were present, anj thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Mr?. Prof. Harrington left for California last Tuesday. and expecls to reach Los Angeles about Jan. 1, stopping at different places on the way to 8ee friends. Miss Alta Parker, book-keeper for Wines & Worden, on Tuesday was called to her home in Lima very suddenly by the severe illness of her father, Sampson Parker. Eugene E. Beal and wife and City Recorder Pond attended the funeral in JackEoa Sunday, of Burtrom D. Keith, a brother of Mr?. Eigene Bal and a nephew of Mr. Pond. GK M. S. Best will arrive in a few days from Portland, Oregon, and Salt Lake city for a short visit at the residence cf his mother, Mrs. C. Best, W. Huron st, thence toDstroit, New York, and Bjs'.oq, on a business trip. Will return west near the holidays.
