The pupils who have recitations in the afternoon are requested to observe, hereafter, the same rules of order as the morning classes do.- The ladies of the junior class held a secret meeting on Tuesday at one o'elock.- The boys of the junior class are highly delighted to think that this is leap year. - There was an examination given in gramraar this afternoon at two o'clock.- The times when the eesays are due are as follows: First year, Feb. 14; eecond year, Feb. 21 ; third year, Feb. 28; and the senior class, March 6- Next week Thursday, there will be an examination given in U. S. History at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, in room No. 2.- The question for debate tomorrow evening in lyceum No. 1, is, Resolved, That there should ' be no private ownership in lands. Messrs. Goodrich and Griffln are on for the affirmativë, and for the negative, Messrs. Spencer and Osborn. - In lyceum No. 2, the following question will be debated this week: Resolved, That the surplus in the U. S. treasury demanda a reduction in the tariff. Frank Clay will discuss it in favor of the affirmative, and Mr. Katzenberger for the negative. After the regular meeting there will be an election of officers.
