Cassell & Company have in rearfiness a smal! volume on "Color," by a A. H. Church, which is intended asan elementary manual for students. Art student will find many valuable hints between these covers. A new "character" poem by James Whitoomb Ptiley, "At -The Literary,'" wiih illustr&tions by Kemble, will appear in the f rthcoming "midwinter" (February) Century. Messrs. Cassell & Company have on several occasions had the pleasure of introducing new authors to the public, and as they have never done so without success, the public may congratúlate itselí every time this ceremony is gone through with. The last of these new authors is Ellery Sinclair, who e novel "Victor," is ready for publicntion. Elery Sinclair is said to be a nom de plume but whether of a man or woman it is left the reader to discover. The delicacy of some paj-snee wouM indícate the woman's touch, while the boldness of others would indícate a masculino stroke. Whoever wrote the story, be it m&n or woman, shows a gift tor the art of fiction that the public will doubtless eccourage. Woman's World, publisbed by C isell fe Co., New York, and edited by Oscar Wilde, ia certainly an elegant ptece of work. The February number contains a fi e rticle on the author of John Halitax, Gentleman.
