The junior hop, among the üniversity people, the students, and their friends of social proclivities, is looked forward to with great pleasure. All pleasurable anticipations concerning it that the press is supposed to know anything about were I fulfilled. It eertainly was a brilliant social evect. The rink was in gay attire, and i looked üked a great parlor. Above the entrance was hung a bright gas jet in the form of the figures '89, and the American flag wa3 graeefully arranged back of this. One part oí the rink was given up to a dining room, and on the partition dividing this from the dancing room were the üreek letters of the various fraternities taking part. The chaperones for this occasion sat on an elevation, as became their dignity in e northwest corner. They were Airs Wade, Mr.. Dunster, Mrs. Best, Mrs' Knowlton, and Mrs. Pattengill. The grand march was oommenced at 10: 15 Prof de Pont planned the figures. Eignty-five couples were in line. The dancing commenced at 11 o'clock, and the last dance was finished at 4:30. There were only two square dances on the program which contained 24 regular, and 12 extra, numbers. The musio for the occasion was by an I orchestra from the Detroit Musical society The dancing was maintained with great spirit and enjoyment, and it, with the delicious music, the beautiful costumes the flashing diamonds, and the faces of' the pleasure-seekers, made a very brilliant scène. The number of visitors to Ann Arbor who atended the hop is laree. Among those from Detroic were: Mrs A O Lindsay, Mr. and Mrs. YV. E. BaubieMr' nd Mrs. Pack, Mrs. Dr H F Lvster' Mra. W. V. Kelly, and the Misseg Lyster! L;ndsay, Parker, Lewi?, ünderwood Prentis, Moore, Towar, Merwin, Huil Alexander, Friedman, Doeltz, Ward, Harris, Biddle. Others were present as follows: Miss Addie Wiseman and Miss Anme MoCauley, Tiffin, O.; Miss Colüns, Miss Gallagher, of Corunna.; Mr. and Mre Albert Pack, Miss Mabel Malta, Miss Corbin of Alpena; Mr. F. T.
