Mrs. Margaret S. Pomeroy, wife of Dr. Emmet H. Pomeroy, died at her home in Calumet, Houghton county, Feb. 14, of Bright's disease of the kidneya. Mrs. Pomeroy was a daughter of the late Hon. James McMahon, and sister of Mrs. Frank O. Loomis, of thia place, where she lived until the time of her marriage with Dr. Pomeroy in 1870. All her life she ezhibited those qualities of mind and heart which bound her personal (rienda to her in the most steadfast warmth and loyalty. There are miny in Ann Arbor to whom the news of her deatti was as the shock of a severa personal los, and Dr. Pomeroy and bis little dauahter Louise have the sincere sympathy of all. Funeral services were held at the residence of Mrs. McMahon, on Aan st, Rev. Samuel Ea-p, Rector of St. Andrew's chnrcV, officiating, on Friday afternoon last at 3 o'clock, and the remains taken toForest Hill cemetery. The Calumet and Red Jacket News of Feb. 17 says: "Her illness had been a loDg and painful one, yet all bear testimony as to her remarkable cheerfulness aiid fortitude to the last. ''During a residence here of fourteen years, she had endeared herself to a large circle of friends, who deeply mourn her Io8s and extend heartfplt sympathy to the bereaved husband and diughter."
