Allen, of Brockport, N T., visited her sister, Mr. Wm. Noble over Sundüy. Mrs. Wm. H. Frercb, of Reedsbun1, Wis., is visiting her motber, Mrs. H. Woodward, of Bowery-st Hon. Theodore Royer and wife left Wednesdny for Hot Springs, Arkansag, via. T. A_ A. and N. M. Last week, Prof. C M. Gayley was summoned to the Northern Península by news of the death of a brother. Father Fierle officiated in Battle Creek, Sunday, and Father McManus, of tbat city, officiated in St. Thomas church in Ann Arbor. Mrs. McCaulsy and son, of Jackson, fpent Tuesday in Ann Arbor with Miss Quiclian, oc their way to St. Thomas, Canada. Mrs. Drake, of Texas, who bas been gpending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Milo Pulcipher, started for home on Tuesduy. Dr. Arndt didn't go to the Central District medical society in Lansing last week, as was expected, but Dr. J. C. Wood went and read a paper. Wilbur Short, of Manchester visited friends in the city Saturday and Sunday. His sister-in-law, Miss Ida Gwinner, who had spent the winter in Ann Arbor, returned home with him. Lieut H. F. Simons and Sergeant F. E. Anderson, of Ypsilanti, were in the city, Monday, in the interests of Co. H's masquerade April 5, and Monday evening they attended Co. A's drill. Fifteen friends of Miss Anna Spathelf, of Pontiac-st, gave her an unexpec ed cali last Thursday evening; but she was equal to the occasion, and entertained them in an excellent manner. It was her birthday, and her Iriends went laden with gids. Hamilton Douglas, of Detroit, a cousin of Alderman L. D. Wines, brought his bride of three weeks to Ann Arbor, Saturday, to epend Sunday. Laat Saturday evening a pleasant company wns given in their honor by Mr. and Mrs. Wii es. Dr. 8. G. Milner went to Graad Rápida last Tuesday to commence the practica of medicine. He gradumed with the cla?s of '87 in the Homoeopathic depariraent, and is also a gradúate of the üterary dppartment. He has been principal of ihe Grand Rapids high school. Sinoe last July he has been assisiant to Drs M Lachlin and Wood in the Homoeopa'.hic department, which position he resigned to enter practice. Mrs. Milner, who is teacher of maihematies iu the Ann Arbor high school, will remain till the close of the schoo'. year.
