A Prominent Congregational
aian in Detroit, Rev. W. H. Davis, talked right out in his pulpit last Sunday in favor of having parks, reading rooms, and libraries open on Sunday, and making it a day of relaxation. Sbades of our Puritan forefathers ! what a dangerous man ! Then he went on to say that in the churches, as a rule, laborers were not tobefound. Churches had become to a great extent institutions for the rich. This was due largely to the fact that they had to be supported by the wealthy, but he urgedthat the common people should be met aƱore cordially by regular attendants. What does he mean by "common people ?" Is there an aristocracy in the Dnited States as wellas in Europe ?
