Last evening, at 10:30 o'clock, John J. Burns went to the T. & A. A. depot. He jumped on a train to ride as far as Miller's avenue. In jumping off, he struck against a switch, and was terrïbly bruised. Dr. W. B. Smith worked over him all night. i This morning, he was still unconscious and he died at 9:20 o'clock. Mr. Burns was a second sergeant of Co. A., and was very much liked.
