Miss Mary H. Scott, one of the most highly respected and admired of the young women of Ann Arbor, was married last evening, at the residence of her father, J. Austin Scott, to Charles L. Carter, of I ledo. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. H. Ryder, Miss Emily R. Stebbins acting as bridesmaid. It was a very I unostentatious but an unusually happy event. Besides the bride's relatives in Ann Arbor, her brother from Rutger's I coiiege, ürunswick, JS. J., Dr. Austin Scott was preeent. Mr. Carter is the gon of the I Hawaüan minister at Washington, H. A. P. Carter, who was present with hw wife j and three daughters. An annt of the happy young man, Mrs. Laura F. Dickson, of Honolulú, was also present The bridegroom graduated in the law department last year and his shingle is now hung out I in Toledo, where the young couple will take up their residence.
