Independbnce, Mo., April 10.- At the business sestion of the church of tha Later-Day Salnts Saturday afternoon Seoretary Henry A. Stebbins read hls raport, whioh showed the total meinbership to be 20,678, nearly all in the United States excepting 1,000 in Canada and 600 in England, In this country, lowa leads with 4,507 members, Missouri is seoond with 2,413, Dlinois has 1,618 and California 1,132. Utah has 507. This church is strictly opposed to polygamy. A resolution was reported advisin g that no man be recommended for general conference appointment who uses tobáceo or strong drink.
