Winxlpeg, Man., April 10.- The diseovery of vast flelds of black sand, rich in pold, about '200 miles northwest of Sltka has caused unwonted exoltement araong the minera of Alaska, and nuinerous partios have already started in sloops for the scène. One small boat which undertook to head off another which started in the night has not been heard from, while its competitor in the race for wealth was compelled to return to Sltka, Every panfnl of sand washed out is said to leave the bottom yellow with fine gold.
