Centennial Celebration

Marietta. O., April 6.- The celebration to commemorate the lOOth auniversary of the ftrst settlement of the territory northwest of the Ohio river, from which were carved the States of Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin, commenced in this city yesterday. Marietta, O., April 7.- At the centennial celebration yesterday there were addresses delivered by W. P. Outler, of Marietta; exPresident R B. Hayes; William Henry Smith, of Chicago; Senator Hoar, of Massachusotts, and others. Mabietta, O., April 9.- The closing exercises of the centennial anniversary took Dlace on Satuaday. Senator Hoar, of Massachu8etts, was the orator of the day, and Governor Foraker made the speech of welcome.
