Tñere wa9 also a large attendance of citizens and a number of professors. When the curtain rolled up eaoh student produced a newspaper, and holding it before his face, apparently began to read. When the first act was nearly over all the students aróse and yawned, and leisurely putting on their coatp and hats, walked out. They made noise enough to drown orchestra, cliorus and all. While the second act was in progress the studeats returned as noisily as they went out. When they were seated they began to applaud every act systematically and loudly. The first chorus song was encored three times, and when the company tried to proceed the students kept up their noise so long that the singers quietly sat down and waited for the commotion to subside. When there was a kissing scène on the stage the students arose en mase and kissed their hands. Eight h'undred boys blew as many kisses to two badly frightened stage lovers, who trembled with apprehension at what might take place. Owing to the interruptions the play lasted till midnight, and a very badly frightened lot ot'.-ingers then made a dash for their hotel
