A Register reporter called on Prof. Hennequin to get confirmation of the rumor that he had reaigned his position in the University. It was found to be true. The resignation takes effect Oot. 1 next. UpoQ questioniDg him, it was found that it is his intentionto remain in Ann Arbor, making occasional trips east, and to give his whole time to the study of dramatic art and the writing of playa. He has been connected with the University 16 years. During these 16 years, he has written a complete series of Prench text-books, very extensively used, and otherwise given most of his time to the University. For the last six or seven years the professor, in connection with his other University duties, bas made a specialty of dramatic art and literature, in which he has airead attained quite a reputation as an author and as a critic. Bronson Howard, when with us this winter, said that Prof. Hennequin was already considered an authority on dramatic art. The announcement of the withdrawal of Professor Hennequin from the University with which he has been sb long connected, is to be regretted.
