S. W. Farmers' Club

The ninth annual meeting of the Southern Washtenaw Farmers' club was held at the residence of S. M. Merithew, ia Sharon, April 4. The attendance was large despite the rain. B. G. English presided. 8. M. Merithew was elected president; C. M. Fellows, secretary; Frank Spafard, treasurer ; and B. G. English, Mra. F. Spafard, and H. R. Palmer, yice presidente. The treasurer's report showed the club'8 finances, despite the hard winter and poor corn erop, to be in a good condition. An invitation from the Norvell Farmera' club to meet in joint session at " Fair View," the residence of L. D. Watkins, was accepted. The date fixed is June 7, and the subject for discussion is, " What constiiutes a practical education for farmers' sons and daughters ?" A committee, consisting of 0. M. Fellows and wife, B. G. English and wife, and George Rawson and wife, was appaiated to prepare a program for the coming year. There was a short discusión on how to cultÃvate potatoea.
