New York, May 5.- The business fail ares during the past seven days number, I for the United States 209, and for Canada 25, or a total of 234, compared with 223 last ■week, and 182 for the corresponding week of last year. The total of failures in the United States from January 1 to date is 3,892, against 3,0S8 in 18b.
