Judge Harriman, who takes the Eaglisl papers, and read them more than he doe our own, - excepting, of course, TnE Reg ister, - called attention to a review, in the last number of the London Spectator, of a book by an Eoglish woman, entitled "A Queen in the Great Republic." Ot' course the English wonaan, like Matthew Arnold, did not find this country very " interesting." Cincinnati was " too smoky;" St. Louis " too filthy;" and New York" too Irish," you know ! She does condescend to 8ay a word in praise of the Grand Canon of the Colorado. The review says : " This misleading name suggests the neighborhood of Denver and Colorado Spring8; but the famous canon is in reality many hundredsof miles from either one orother, and is eiluated to the south of Arizona belween New Mexico and South Carolina." This is good.
