What A Cattle Sale Has Come To Be
Last Thursday, a Register representa tive went to the farm of W. E. Boyden near Delhi, wfyere the joint Short-horn cattle sale of Boyden & Ball was to be held. The road, lanes and yards were were full of conveyances of all kinds, am at least 400 people were on the grounds Raised seats had been arranged in the basement of one of the barns, in whioh place the sale waa held. A number ol ladies occupied seats, and seemed as much interested in the proceedings as any one. Col. J. A. Mann, of Kalamazoo, conductec the sale. Forty-two fine animáis were disposed of at prioes ranging from $50 to $250. Buyers were present from all parts of the country, some of the best cattle going as far west as Nebraska. A bountiful lunch was served at noon, in the shade of some magnificent trees in the yard, and was pronounced by all the best ever served at a sale in these parts. Mr. Boyden has one of the finest farms in the county, and everything is kept in " apple pie order."
