TUE POLITICAL FIELD. Rutlan'u, Vt., July 5. - The Republicans oí the First district have renomiuated John W. Stewart for Congres. Augusta, Ga., July 5.- Georg-e Barnes has been renominated for Congress by the Democrats of the Tenth district. Fort Worth, Tex., July 5.- A State convention of farmers, laborera and stockraisers of Texas met in tbis city Tuesday and nominated a fState ticket, with Ëvan Jones for Governor. The platform denounces the Mills bill for placing wool on the f ree list, demands the abolition of the National-bank system and tbe election ot the President and President by popular vote. Leaven worth, Kan., July 5.- The Democrats met in State convention in this city yesterday and nominated Judge John Martin for Governor. Sak Francisco, July 5. - The State convention of the American party met here yesterday afternoon and after the appoint} ment of the usual committees adjourned until to-day, when delegates will be elected to a National convention to nomínate candidates for President and Vice-President Baltimor, Md., July 6 -At a convention of Democratio clubs in this city yesterday a National League was organized, with Chauncey F. Black, of Pennsylvania, as president, and Edward B. W hitney, of New York, as secretary. Ban Francisco, Julv 9. - At the sesslon Friday of the American party delegatesat-large to the National convention were elected as f ollows : P. D. Wigginton. Frank M. Pixley, Victor J. Robertson and Alfred Doggett. A resolution was adopted pledging the support of the convention to Mayor Hewitt, of New York, if he will accept the nomination of the party for President of the United State9. New York, July 10.- The Republican National headquarters on West Twentyfifth street have been opened for business. Washington, July 11.- A National convention of the American party, for the nomination of candidates for President and Vice-President, has been called to meet in this city on the 14th of August. Kaxamazoo, Mich., July 11.- Tbe Prohibitionists of the Fourth district met hete yesterday and nominated Oeorge F. Cummings for Coneress. Saratooa Sprinos, N. Y., July 11.- The State Republican conveutiou has been called to meet here on the 28th of August.
