PlTTSBUBGH, Pa., July 13. - The waters that have been sweeping the valley of tho Monongahelu, and the valleys of its tributaries for sixty hours are falling into their natural ehannels. The losses entailed by the flood will not lall short of .sa, 000, 000, a large proportion of which feil upon the people of the counties ofi Marión. Taylor, Harrison, Lewis, Barbour, Upshur and Handolph, in West Virginia, and the counties of Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette and Ureene, in Pennsylvania. Wheelino, W. Va., July 15. - As the ravages of the storm are repaired additional adviee.3 as to the extent of the destruction are received from seetions not before open to communication. A dispatth from Berea, Ritchie County, bring the flrst advices from the Hughes river, a small stream flowing through Doddridge and Ritchie counties. On its banks the destruction is complete. Hundreds ol farmers in these two counties, as well as Calhoun, Giimer and Lewis, are absolutely ruined. Near Berea, at 7 o'clock Monday evening, there was a cloud burst that in a few minutes brought the waters highej than'ever known. J. R. Baker's store, ten feet above ordinary high water, was carried away from its foundation and evers thing below was swept clean. Everj bridge on the stream is gone. Houses, barns, eranaries, hay-stacks and growing crops disappeared entirely, and piles of drift and debris were left ten oi twelve feet deep in the valley. For miles the soil was washed off as clean as a floor, leaving a hard, smooth clay surface. Thi loss on Hughes river is placed at $500,000. On Wednesday Terra Alta, Preston County, was visited by a cyclone, of which no news reached here owkig to the lach of mail or telegraph f acilities. The track of the cyclone lay right through the heart of the town and twistd houses from their foundations and carried roof s hundreds oj feet from the buildings. No one was in. jured. Boston, July 13. - A cyclone swept ovei portions of this State yesterday, the greatesi havoc being done in Waltham, Cambridge, Watertown, Dedham, Brignton and Wnv throp. Albany, N. Y., July 13.- Between thi! city and Pittsfield, Mass., a cyclone yesterday swept a olear path, three papei milis and many houses being leveled. New Yokk, July 13. - Advices to th Associated Press from all parts of New York, New Jersey and New England show; that a terrific rain and wind-storm ragec all night. The storm was particu larly severe along the coast anc many sailing vessels went ashore. N( large loss of life has as yet been reportod, but the damage to property will be large. Daxville, 111., July 13. - Seven iron and wooden bridges in Vanee township, this county, were washed out by the floods, causing a loss of over $20,000. Tehre Haute, Ind., July 14.- The rapid rise of the Wabash to eighteen feet floodetl hundreds of acres of bottom land and threatened total destruction to thousands of bushels of corn. Farmers in this vicinity are much exercised over the loss. Over half the erop is already destroyed and there are fears oí worse to come. Benklemax, Neb.. July IS.- A íearíul wind-storm passed over this place Sunday night, destroying the Presbyterian church and twenty frame dwellings. No lives were lost, though several persons were in jured.
