To Him Who Waits
Many a castle J'va built n Spain, With turrets and domes that were passiüg fair Bot the flrst wild storm of wind and rain Has proved my castles were made of air. Many. a fleet I have sent to sea, Freighted vith hopes and ainbitions bright; Never a ship has come back to me, Ttfough I've watehed for them long by day and nigbt. But I sometimes think there will come a day Wheu my heart's fond wishes I shall attaln- When, walled and towered in grand array, Shall stand secure my castles in Spain. And I look to see the sunset's glow, As it reddens the ocean miles on miles, Shiue on the ships that sailed long ago - My ships coming back from the Fortúnate Isles.
