MissTinnie Masten is vbiting friends in Detroit. The Amphion club lefl for Bay View, Monday. Rev. Mr. Sunderland and fanrly are at SiWer Lake. C. S. Durand and wife were in Cnelsea over Sunday. William Walter Ulark is now at work for Jas. Stafford. Dora MoCoilum is visitiog friends in Owosso and Laneing. Mrs. Wm. A. Clark and daughter spent last week at Whitmore. Mr?. C. H. Stone, of Flint, is a guest of Miss H. Gregory, 14 Bowery-st. Harry Watts and gister, Carri, are enjoying themselves at Bay View. Miss Amelia McLaren, book-keepsr of this office, is enjoying a vacation. Mrs. Jas. M. Stafford is entertaining her si9ter, Miss Rice, of Akron, Ühio. Walter Mack is enjiying his vacation visiting northern Bummer resorts. Frank M. Latson, of Jackson, was in the city with friends over Sunday. Mrs. David Rinsey and family left Monday for Sukey lake, to be gone a week. Mrs. N. D. Conklin, of Toledo, is visiting at her f athers, John Moore, on División st. The choir of Zion churoh serenaded Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schneider last Friday night. Miss Elsie Hadley, lit. 's, will teach mathematics in the Coldwater school the coming year. Cnss. Orr, with S. C. Andrews & Co., spent his two weeks Vücation witb friends at Xenia, Ohio. Mi=s Katie Harrer and Miss Emma Wildermuth, of Owosso, are visiting Mrs. C. Q-winner. Mrs. S. D. Allen and Miss Nellie Allen are spending a few weeks at Petoskey and Charlevoix. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. ÜJty of Manchester, spent Sunday with tbeir son, Wm. G. Doty, of this city. The family of John Koch left for Grand Rapids, Tuesday, for a visit. Mr. Koah will join thein next week. B. F. Burnettand wife from Taylorville, 111., are viiting their relativos, Stephen Mills and David DePue and families. Miss Amelia Ginther, of Jackson, who has been visiting at Hrj, Rentschler's, on Washington 8t, returned home Saturday. Miss A. Holsey started Tuesday for a visit to friendo in eastern New York and Long Island, iatending to be absent some time. Mrs. Elizabeth Wanty, of Grand Rap ids, who has been visiting in Ana Arbor for several weeks, returned to her home yesterday. Mrs. Chris. Arndts, of Marshall, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Henne, W. Liberty-st, returned home Tuesday. Miss Amanda Rever and Miss Lizzie Brehm left Tuesday morning by boat for Cbeboygan, where they will remain for seversï weeks. E. B. Coolidge, general agent of the Wheeling & Lake Erie R. R , was looking over our city Monday in company with Agent Pamley. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Clarkson hnd a pleassnt gathenng at their residenoe, Friday night, in honor of their guest, Mrs. M. W. Howard, of Langing. Williain Steufer, president of the First National bank, and D. C. Griffert, both of West Point, Nebraka, were guests of D. F. Schairer the first of the week. When last heard from Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Whitman were in Texas, from whence they were going to Denver, expecting to reach Ann Arbor the last of this week. A party of gentlemen, consisting of Joe T. Jacobs, Won. Herz, John A. Gates, Albert lilaes and song Charles and August, left Monday, for the Cincinnati expogition. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mclntyre, west Huron-st, gave a reception to about 150 of their iriends, Tuesday evening. Hangsterf'er was caterer, and the affair was one cf profue elegance. Mrs. Matt McCollum and grandon, of Detroit, who have been visiting the tormer's mother-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Smith, on Thompson st, returned home, Saturday, acconipanied by her neice, Mías Nellie Smiih. Fred M. Starks, son of C. M. Starks, Webster, iraveling for Jones & Primley, drugs and prefumes, Elkhart, Ind., was in the ciiy, Tuesday. He is now with his parenis at ihe oíd home for a few days, being on his way to the Pacific coast. D. Cramer returned Saturday night from his trip around the lakes. Mrs. Cramer remains at Menomioee two weeks, when she goes to Chicago for a week, and then will return to Aon Arbor. Mr. Cramer isited all the shore ehies, and spent two dnys in Chicago pight seeing. The bride f;rHduated as B. L. in '84, and as a medie in '88.
