Pittsdurgh, Fa., July 37.- A prominent member of the Knights f Labor, well known not only in this city but throuehput the country, when asked as to the total njeinbership of that order said: " It seem almost incredible, bvit if a truthful aniweï l given the totaj membersip of the Knights of Labor to-day does not esced 150,000. The talk about 500,000 members is gros exaggeratlon, for I have made it a point to inf orm myself on the question ai the decline since the last general assembly a year ago, and the Pittsburgh district has decreased in membership to 4,000 and district f orty-nine of New York has decreased iroin 81,000 to 10,000.
