Fremont Emmons Lynched

Beatkice, Neb., Aug. 1,- Frcmont Emmons, who brutally murdered Bertha Schultz at Pawne6 City last Friday afternoon, was lynched by a mob at an early hour Tuesday morning. Emmons had been in jail here ior safe keeping and was taken back to Pawnee City for a preliminary hearing. He pleaded "not guilty. Emmons was torn f rom the deputy iheriff and hanged to a railroad bridge. The coroner's jury returned a verdict of death at the hands ol persons unknown. Emmons' crime wa ono of the most brutal on riord. Pretty Miss Schultz refused to marry him and Emmons stabbed her to death.
