Our well-known machinist, Messrs. Henry Neuhof & San have just made a very simple and most useful machine which they style "An invalid lifter." With this machine, an invalid can be lifted into any position, in and out of bed, into a chair and out of it, from the piaiza to the ground, or into a buggy, all without any difficulty, n child doing the work. The main features of this machine consist of two puileys, a cord and a wheel. A movable arm carries the invalid to and from the place desired, and a system of belts and straps hold comfortably the person lifted in the required position. The machine can be wheeled from room to room and taken out of doors as easily as a rolling- chair. A patent has been applied for. This machine ws made to order, and is for use in Prof. Hennequin's family. Prof. Hennequin has ran:acked ihe country for some such machine, and is certain that nothing like it is to be found elsewhere. Gorge C. McDougal, of Superior, was elected secretary of the board'of county examiners today at 1 1 o'clock, at a salary of $1200. Cavanaugh, the way of the transgressor is hard !
