The Republican county conveatiou met at the court house on Tuesday and placed a county ticket in nomination. The list is on the editorial page. The conTention was a representative Republican gathering, the most prominent citizens of the county being present as delegates. The demeanor was qaiet and gentlemanly and the nominations were made without any personalities or abuse such as characterized the recent convention of the opposite party. MORNINO SE8SION. The morning session of the convention was called to order at 11 o'clock by Wm. M. (X-band, of Ypsilanti, chairman of the county committee, who stated the object of the convention to be the placing in nomination a county ticket, and to elect delegates to the senatorial convention, although the latter was not in the cali of the conveution. The chairman requested the convention to expedito business, as it was necessary for the county committee to hold an important meeting that day, after the adjournment of the convention. Col. Henry S. Dean, of Ann Arbor, was called to act as chairman pro tem., and Charles H. Kline, of Ann Arbor, was appointed secretary pro tem. The following committees were appointed: Credentiah :- C. E. Hiscock, of Ann Arbor. J. L. Gilbert, of Chelsea, and Andrew Campbell, of Pittsfield. Permanent Organizativa :- George S. Wheeler, of Salem, A. F. Freeman, of Manchester, and H. S. Boutell of Ypsilanti. The convention then took a recess until two o'clock. FTERNOON SESSION. Before the convention met in the afternoon session, Hon. A. J. Sawyer, who had been notified by the committee of his nomination for representative to the legislature, entered and in response to repeated calis, appeared on the rostrum. He said that he didn't expect to have anything to say, and had just learned f rom the committee that the people war.ted him to run for their repreeentative to the legislature. He could only say that he feit gratifled and flattered at the compliment which they had paid him, and should he be elected he would do his best and not disgrace the district. The committee upon Permanent Organization and Order of Business reported as follows : l8t. - Report of committee on credentials. 2nd. - Report of committee on Permanent Organization and Order of Business. 3rd. - The committee reoommended for permanent officers, James L. Gilbert, of Chelsea, for chdirman, and John F. Nestell, of Manchester, for secretary. 4th. - That the convention proceed to nomínate the ticket in the following orC.er : Judge of probate, sheriff, clerk, prosecuting attorney, register of deeds, reasurer, circuit court commissionere, coroners and surveyor. The report was accepted and the permanent officer8 took their seats. The convention then proceeded to nominate the county ticket, the utmost harmony prevailing, the nominations all being made by acclamatioD. George S. Wheeler, of Salem, was unanimously nominated for judge of proaate. Jacob Martin, of Ypsilanti, was presented to tbe convention and was nominated Eor sheriff. Morton F. Case, of Pittsfield, was nominated for county clerk. John F. Lawrence, of Ann Arbor, was nominated by acclamation for the office of prosecuting attorney amidst the greatest enthusiasrn. Albert Gardner, of Ann Arbor, was presented in behalf of the old soldiere, as a oandidate for the office of register of deeds, and was nominated. Wm. R. Tuomey, of Scio, was nominated for treasurer. Charles H. Kline, of Ann Arbor, and F. C. Moriarty, of Ypsilanti, two young attorneys, were nominated for circuit court commissiorers. Dr. W. F. Breakey, of Ann Arbor, and Dr. F. K. Owen, of Ypsilanti, were placed in nomination as coroners. John K. Yocum, of Chelsea, being nominated for county surveyor, completed the ticket. The tellers appointed by the convention, Henry D. Platt, of Pittsfield, and A. W. Wilkiuson, of Sylvan, had nothing to do, as not a ballot was taken. The convention then separated into representativo districts and presented the following who were elected delegates to the senatorial convention : First District:- J. T. Jacobs, W. A. Clark, Wm. Frank, C. E. Hiscock, Jerome Freeman, of Ann Arbor; Emory E. Leland, of Northfield; A. W. Wilkinson, of Chelsea; Wm. R. Hamilton, of Salem; Elmer S. Cushman, of Webster. Second District: - Wm. Campbell, of Pittsfield; A. A. Wood, of Lodi; Dr. E. F. Pyle, of York; Norman Redner, of Augusta; A. F. Freeman, of Manchester; F. D. Graves, Wm. M. Osban-i, J. B. Wortley, Clark Cornwell, of Ypsilanti. Af ter a few remarks by the Re. Thomas Holmes, of Chelsea, the con ver - inn adjourned.
