Ex-Gov. Gilman of Minnesota tbus relates an incident of a cyclone that passeci over St. Cloud, Mimi, a year ago: "Sonie luings oceurred during that cyclone that swept acrocs my farm a year ago last spring that have ncver been told. I was in St. Paul at the time aml went up to St. Cloud expectiog to tind my house blown into Ihe river. lu tliis 1 was happily disappointed, but tliere were evidences tbat the cyclone had Bwept llirough my back yard, and ihe next morning when I went out to look around I hennl a bleat coming out of the air, and, looking up, I saw a likely-looking Jersey calf hanging in tlie branche of a large pear tree. I uminoned my hired man, and together we managed to get the calf ilmvn and found tliat lie was all rlght, wilh the excep tion of his forehead. 'l'his part of the calf's head was Meeding, and upon Dxamination we found tbat a portioa of n glass dish that looked like the bottom of buttei-dish had been blown into the forehead and was üxed there so tiglttlv it was impossible to remove it. The auimal didnt secm to suffer front the wounu, and, washing the blood out of its eyea, we gave it some cut hay and oals, which it ate ravenously. Up to Ihe present time the calf has eontimied to grow strong and fat, and il has breóme a curiosity in the neighborhood, for llirough tlie botloni of tbe glass di.-h ihe workiogs of the eali's brain can bc pluinly be seen. ThewouUd arouud the edges of the glass lias healcd, and the anima! walks around like a bull's-eye laateru. One curious fact in the case is that I have nevet been abie to discover where the calf came from, but it was probably picked up by tlie wind in ils rush and brought down, and hung up n the tree. Yes, cycloiies are very luiiny lliinns. Imi I don't want anv of tliem to monkey around my preniiscs, it' yon picase."
