To the Editor of The RĂ©sister : Sie : - It is reported that David Henning has determined to commence suit agaiast the city for damageB for closing North State-st, and obstructing the entrance to bis warehouse from Pontiac-st. Would it not be well for our common council tofully satisfy themselvesthat they had a legal rightto do what has been done ? It may be that the city will have damages to pay. Perhaps Mr. Henning might be induced to make a favorable settlement of this matter, and I understand the railroad company has offered to improve this property in case the city will secure it. It may cost lesa to purchase the interest of Mr. Henning and others than it will to defend a lawsuit. Judging from the improvements which the Michigan Central has made on this side, the changes they would make down to the river would add very much to the appearance of the depot grounds.
