On Saturday night as Wellington C Tate returned home about 9:40 o'clock, he found his father, William Tate, lying deat at the foot of the stairs in his residence No. 59 E. Liberty-st. Mr. Tate was 75 years oíd and has been very feeble for some time past. He has lived in this city and vicinity for over 30 years. A jury was impaneled, Sunday morning, anc found that his death was the result o heart disease, be probably having been taken just as he reached the head of the stairs and fallen down them. In his hanc he clutched a curtain whioh he had pullec from a window at the head of the stairs as he feil. There were some soratcheB on his face, but his neck was not broken The deceased leaves a son, W. C. Tate and some property in the city and a farrr near by. The funeral was held from the residence, Tuesday.
