There was a full attendance of city f ithers at the common council meeting Monday evening, but the room was cold and there was a Rapublcan politica! meeting in the rink; hunce tbere was an eagerness to get away. The first tnotion carried provided for a special meeting tonight. A BKAUTI1UL DRIVB. A communication from Spencer D. Lennon and George Week?, of Ann Arbor, was read, in whioh they asked that a street be opened and feuoed by the city across their land on seotion 21 in the township of Aon Arbor, during the fall of 1889, and to build a bridge over a small creek or ravine, and they offered to deed the right of way. Aid. Kearns moved that the proposition of Mr. Lennon cd Mr. Weeks be accepted and adopted. He claimed that the proposition was a liberal ooe, and tbat it would inake a beautiful drive. Aid. Allmendinpor wanted to put off the consideration of the motion till their next meeting, although he was favorable to the scheme. Mr. Kearns objeoted to the postponement. Mr. Heiz thought it could be postpuned three dayg, if the Secondst opening could be poslponed two year.í. The proposition was received, and the gtreet committee was ordered to report at the next meeting about the probable expenso ot makingthe street and bridge. FINANCKS The oommittee on finauces reported bilis audi'.ed to the araount of $1,635.02, and it was adopted. CITT MARSHAL'S RKPORT. The whole nurober of arrests during September wbb 7, ot wbich 6 were on the charge of drunkeu-ness and one of fast driving.
