New Yohk, Oct. 20.- The fifteenth annual conventinti of the Women's Christ.ian Temper.ince Union met in the Metropolitan Opera-House in this city yesterday, with d-'legates present from all parta of the Uuited States. Miss Francés Willard delivered theannual aiidress. The Secretary's report stated that there were 7,371 unions with a membership of 1(54 .'13. Of Loyal Legions, an outgrowth of the unions, there were 3,437 unions with a membership of 163,74:5. At the evening session Mayor Hewitt welcomed the ladies to New York. Addresses were made by General Clinton B. Fisk, of New Jersey; John P. St. John, of Kansas ; Mrs. Mary T. Burt, president of the W. C. T. ü. of New York; Mrs. Mary T. Lathrop, president of the W. C. T. U. of Mchigan: Prof. Samuel Dickie, of the Exeeutive Committee of tV.e Prohibition party; Mrs. Baker, of Dakota; Miss Henr.etta G. Moore, of Ohio; Miss Fannie Barnes, of New York, and Rev. Anna Shaw. New York, Oct. 23. - Saturday morning's session of the Wornan's Christian Temperance Union was taken up in hstening to the reading of papers and addresses on various interesting topics. Nkw York, Oct. 23- At a meeting of the National Womau's Christian Temperance Uniou yesterday Miss Francés E. Willard, of Illinois, was re-elected president, Mrs. C. B. Buell, of Chicago, was reelected corresponding secretary, Mrs. Mary A. Woodbridgc, of Ohio, was reelected recording secretary, and Mrs. Esther Pugh, of Chxago, was re-elected treasurer. New York, Oct. 24. - At the convention of the W. C. T. U. yesterday resolutions were adopted favoriug Federal aid to pubic schools, accord ing to illiteracy; prohiöition of export of liquor to África and other uncivilized countries; National legislation to suppress the liquor trafile; favor woman suffrage, and indorse the Blair Educational bill. Mrs. Angie F. Newnmn spoke on the condition of Mormon women in Utah. blie told of two sisters, Bixteen and fourteen years old, withbabeïs in their arms, who were the wives of their father; and cited the cuse of a man. who, besides lis regular snouse. had married hls mother, ais grandniotlier, his daughterand lis gianddaughter, all of wh-m were ow iving.
