Brutally Beaten

Detroit. Mich., Oct. lft- A special to the News f rom Duluth, Minn., says: W. F. Fritze, treasurerof Hermantown school district, near Duluth, was waylaid in the uburbs oí Duluth Wednesday night by -our highwaymen.who pulled him from his buggy, threvv him to the ground, beat him shockingly tfnd robbed him of a mink skin money belt, containing over Í2,OOO in school funds. He made his way to pólice headquarters in a pitiful plight, and told his story. He had shown hi3 belt to a number of persons in a saloon where he had been drinking. The previous treasurer was robbed in the same manner six years ago near the same spot. The pólice have a clew.
