Washington, Nov. 21.- Lycurgus Dalton, xf Indiana, postmaster of the House, who has itlways been less sanguine of Democratie success than any of his official colleagues, was asked what his figures, show as to the political complexion of the next House. His reply was that the Republicans, according to his figures, would have three njajority sure, and possibly iour. GOFF CLAIMS HIS ELECTION. Wheelivg, W. Va., Nov. lil -General Goff, Kepublican candidate for Governur, telegraphs the State Committee that his majority in McDowell County is 174 and in Wyoming 18& General Goff also telegraphs that he is elected Governor. This is the first time he has maJe any claim. He says he will see that the will of the people is carried out. COMPLETE KETCBXS FROM INDIANA. Imdianapows, Ind., Nov. 21.- ïhe work of compiling the election returns in Indiana has been completed at last It is shown that General Hovey, the Republican candidate for Governor, received 263,194 votes; Gourtland C. Matson. Democrat, 261,992; Jasper S. Hughes, Prohibitionist, 9,920, and John B. Milroy, Labor, 2,702. Hovey's plurality is 2,302. The increase in the Prohibitiou vote ever that of 1886 was only 735, and over 1884 it was about 100 per cent. In 1886 tbe Labor vote in the State was 4,640. The net decrease in the late election was 1,'J44. THE VOTK OF DAKOTA. Bismarck, D. T., Nov. 22. - Complete returns of he Territorial election give Mathews (Rop ) r Delégate, 30,000 majority. Every memberof the lower House but one is a Republican, and there are three Democrats and twenty-one Re,publicans ia the upper House of the Legislature Tho total vote of the Territory is 114,000, which, multiplied by üve, gives a total population of 570,000. The populatïon of North Dakota on this basis is 215,000, South Dakota, 255,000. The increase in tho vote over 1SS6 is 10,000. ILLIXOIS FIGURES. Spriugfibld, 111., Nov. 21. - The Secretary of State has the official returns from every county in tho State except Cook, which give Harrison 285,166 votes; Cleveland, 263. 7S7; Fisk, 19,018; Streeter, 6,707; pluralit.' for Earrison, 21,379. The canvassing of the returns for Cook County is still in progress, but will increase the plurality to about 22,000. THE VOTE IX PENNSYLVANIA. Harkisbukg, Pa., Nov. 21. - The complete offic al returns of the recent election in Pennsylvania show a total popular vote of 997,224", being au increase of nearly 100,000 over the total vote of f our years ago. Harrison and Morton's plurality over Cleveland and Thurman is 79,571; their majority over all competitors 's 54,959. The Thirdparty Prohibition vote was 20,748, being an increase of 5.000 in tour years. CON'NECTICUT'S VOTE. Hartford, Conu., Nov. 22.- The official canvass of the vota of Connecticut shows that Cleveland received 74,920; Harrison, 74,584; Fisk, 4,234; Labor, 240. Cleveland' s plurality, 336. For Governor - Morris (Dem.), 75,074; Bulkley (Rep.), 73,659; Camp (Pro.), 4,631; Andrews (Labor), 2fi3; scattering, 21. No one has a majority of the total vote, and the Legislature will elect Bulkley and the others on the Republican State ticket. virginia's official figures. KicHMOsn, Va., Nov. 23.- The following are the official returns of the vote of Virginia: For Cleveland, 151,977; Harrison, 150,442; Cleveland' majority, 1,535. OFFICIAL RETURNS FROM MICHIOAN. Detroit, Mich., Nqv. 24. - The official eau vass of the vote of Michigan gives Harrison a i.lurality of 22,906. The total number of votes cast was 475,260, an increase of 12,860 over four years ago, divided as follows: Harrison, 236,370; Cleveland, 213,404; Fisk, 20.942; Streeter, 4,54i NOKTH CAROLINA'S VOTE. Raleigh, N. C, Nov. 24.- The can vass of the electoral vote of North Carolina just completed shows 148,336 votes for the Democratie candidatos, 134,709 votes for the Republican candidatos and 5,787 votes for the Prohibition candidates. The vote for Congressmen and State offleers will not bo canvassod until the 29th inst. HARKISOÏI'S FIB8T ArPOIXTMENT. Halford, managing editor of the Journal, and yesterday Mr. Halford's acceptance was made public. His experienca with men and affairs mako this appointment a suitable one. Besides, for years a close fnendsbip has existed between General Harrison and Mr. Halford. The relations between the two gentlemen have been at all times of a confidential character. New York, Nov. 24.- The World's Indianapolis correspondent telegraphs an interview with General Harrison in which the latter denies tho truth ofuthe published reporta of alleged statements made by him concerning the annexation of Canada. Tho uenerai says tnat ne has had no talk witb. anyoneonthe subject of the annexation ot Canada, and has said nothing about uslng the "surplus" in purchasing the ter ritory of the Dominion. Y., Nov. 25.- The electoral vote in New York State, as canvassed by the State Board of Canvassers to-day, is as follows, the bighest and lowest uumber ol votes received by any elector béing glven: Republlcan, 650,337; Democratie, 635,965; Prohib tion, 30,281; Socialist, 2,038; Union Labor, 626; United Labor electors-at-large, 2,668; República pluntlity, 14,372.
