Yesterday n Lansing, before the committeeon municipal corporations, Dr. Peyton Ranney, of Kalamazoo, chairman, appeared the following committee of Ann Arbor gentlemen concerniDg the nevr charter : Aíavor Beakes, Col. H. S. DeaD, exSenator Kempf, Postmaster Duffy, j. E. Beal, and Aid. Állcuendineer. A. J. Sawyer happened to be in Lansing and was wkh the committee. For the board of supervisors appeured J. L. Grilbert and M. F. Case. In this first ekirmish Ann Arbor was viotorious. The committee of the legisla'.ure went straight to the diputed pointH, and the county members were not ready for it. Mayor Beakes stated that Ann Arbor waa satisfied with the new charte", and if there were any objections the other side should state them. The other side was weak. They could make no valid objectiona to Arm Arbor haviog six supervisors. nor to the provi-ions relaiive to justiees.of ÜXi peace.
