To the Editor of The Register : Sir : - At a mteling of the Board of Health last evening it was resolved that " In view of' the prevalence of smaüpox in the state, nd that t two railroad points quite nesr us, and the danper to wliich Aon Arbor is tvxposed by thestuderjtsreturningtouniver.-itvand high school, as well as by the traveling public, the board lejommend a general vaocin&tion of all persons not heretofore vacxiuated, and revaccinat'on of all persons not now protected by recent sucoes-stul vaccination." The health offieer was instructed to reque8t President Angelí and Superintendent Perry to secure anuounceineuts of this reoommendatioD iti rfepartmenta of univernity and public schools; and city papers to pnbluh sfime recomm-ndauori8, üs al.-o following reolution that the Board of Health offer free vaccination with good bovine virus (in accordance with act 146, laws 1879 llowells statutes sec. 1685) to all persons furnishingsatisfactory evidence of their inability to pay for it. Also, " that the Board will auilit accounts of physician? whofurnish itemized bilis for vaccinaiion of persons under conditione of foregoiug resulation at rate of 25 (jts.ench. There is no smi.llpox known to the Board in the city or vieinity nor any ieason known for paniuy rumors of cases beyond the fact ofits pr. valance in other places in the state. The vaccination is advied as a proper precautionary raeasure. alwys uecceaary.
