Last Thursday the buildiag oommittee mde its report relative to repairs on the court house. The painting and fresooing cost $801.21. Relaying tho steps and tiling cost $447.41. It was voted to pay the proseeuting attorney actjal cash expenses in traveling about the county in tlie performance oí his duties, bat one-third of the supervisors voted against it. Supervisor Graves wanted to amend it by excepting hotel bilis. Fiually the motion was reconsidered nd the fi.Uowing was adopted : Resolved, And it is hereby ordered that the prosecuting attorney shall auend and conduct iu person all criminal prosecutions in jusiice cuurts of the coumy, and that herealter no Ices or costs will be allowert or paid by the board of supervisors to any justice of the peace fur services in ciuses of' misilemeanor, uuless such proceedhigs shall iirst be autho ized by the pr.isecuting attorney in writing; and that all such bilis or claims shall be accompanied by such written auihorization, and further, the board of supervisors will not allow or pay any bilis of the sheriff or his deputies for board, turukey fees. or washing for any pritoner arsted for said misdimeanors, imless said prisoner has first been regularly couimitted by some justice f ihe peace; and, further. that the prosecmiug attorney be paid the sum of 8-luO perannum forattending in person to all cases in justice couris saidsum to be auditeü and paid when certified to by committee ou criminal claims No. 2, that lie has faithtully perlörmed the duties hereby required. Supervisor iirauit offered a resolution, which was adopted, asking the legislature to so amend the state law relative to dos;s killing pheep, that when a city dog kills sheep, the city treasury shall pay the damage from the city dog fund. The following re-solution, by Supervisor Gilbert, was adopted : Wherkas, In the opiuion of this board it would be very unjust to a large portion of county if the legislature hould grant to the city of Ann Arbor three additional supervisors, or give to the justices of the peace powers in the cuuuty not grauted tq other justices ot the county, as provided for in their new charter; therelore He&olved. That our senator and representativo In the legislature aie t'ereby reqursted t use their influence lo defcat the said charter containing these objectionable features, and the clerk is hereby requested to notify our senator and represcntaiive of the action of this board. The board of supervisors is simply mistaken in thinking that the proposed new charter gives Ann Arbor justices wider jurisdictioa than the present charter does.
