OnMonday eveningfromS to 11, a reception was given by Hon. A. J. Sawyer at his residence on Monre st., in honor of Gov. Cyrus G. Luce and his wife, who enne from Lunsing that day for the purpose of attending the reception. Notwithstanding the iilclemency of the weatber, about two hnndred guesta were present. Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer received iheir guests in the parlor, where efter an introduction to Gov. L'ice and his handsotne wife, they passed on into the rear rooms, whre Hangsterfer perted light refreshments. The Cnequamegons furnihed music for the occasion. A most enjoyable time was had. Among those present were President and Mrs. AngelĂ­, Judge and Mrs. Cooley, Sefretary and Mrs. Wad., Prof. and Mrs. G. S. Morris, Hon. W. W. Williams and wife. Prof. and Ms. J. C.
