The spring meeting of the Michigan state Horticultural society will be heil at Lansiog next week, Tuesday and Wednesdsy. An excellent program has been arranged, of which the following are the leading topic.1-: Plant force; New varietier; Glulted markets; An independent exposition by this society; Pomona and her fruits; Citrus and sub tropical fruits atthenorth; Northern fruit at the south; Miscellaneous Topics and business. The forenoon of WeJnesday will be devoted to a visit to the Michigan Agricultural College and inspection ot its several departments. A gession will be held there in the afternoon, the cloaing one of the meeting. President Willits will deliver an address cf welcome and geveral of the faculty present papers or raake remarks upon horticuHural subject?, including Prof. (Jook upon "Recent Progress in dealing wilh insects injurious to fruits." The Hudson house will be headquarters with reduced rates, $1.50 per day. The usual reduced fare will be made by the railways'. Write to the secretary for certifícate at once so as to be able to get onethird return rate. Washtenawhorticulturists fthould go prepared to take a part in the discusión?. If you cannot be present send to tlw secretary notes upou any of the quesüons to ba read duriug the meeting. A number of the leaditig horticulturists of the state and country are already engaged to furni-h papers or have figniñed their intentioD tü bb present. Take or send samples of fruit or flowers forexhibition.
