Tne convention wül be ealled to order at 30 o'clock a. m , and there will be a iorenoon, afternoon and erening session. It is earne-tly hoped that every Sanday schoei in this county will be represented in this convention. A great and important Sunday School movenaent, eraracing ihis andoherchriptian nation?, whose ultímate ( bject is to plant Sunday schools within the reach of erery family, and bnng into these schor 1-f 8 tnany tceinberg as possible of every family, was organ zad in 1875 In co-operation with this enterprise thi state of Michigan has now a complete and efficiënt organiiUion, offioered by gome of the most zealous and most competent Sanday school workers in the state. More than two-thirds of all the counties in the state, and not les-i than two hundred townships have auxiliary oranization., through which Sunday schools are being planted in houses and private honses, remote from v:llages and orguixed churche1, and bibles and christian litera' ure being diglributed. This organization is thoroughly nonsectarian and inter-denominational. Is principies and methods are such :i to commend it to the approval and co-operation of every person and of every christian orgnnization, wbose existence and energies are consecrated to ihe evangeliïïtion and salvation of the world. It is, uadoubtedly, the broadest, grandest, home mmsiouary enterprise of the age - opening a most inviting and promising field of christian endeavor. The aim of this c:nvention il to bring Washtenaw county into complet p, earnest, üjaloui, organic co opera ion, and effect, without delay, township organizatious. The township organizition is the unit of ibis great work. They are the fingers, that feel after and tind each detitute neighborhood, family, individual. It our information is correct, there are whole townships in this county, within which neither church nor Sunday -school exists. This means tbat many chi'dren are growing up wilh Httle or no knowledge of the scriptures aud reügioua obligation. Ia such ■ Buil bad men and womcn are sure to grow. It necds no eaying ihat oce large, enthusiasiic, well conducted oonvention, composed of representatives froin every SundaY-school iu the county, and coinprising the best, most successfut talent witbiu reach, aided, also, by the prepence and counsel of the state secretary, must be more infpiring, more instructive, and productive of more lasting good than a denominational meeting of the kind oould possibly be.
