Des Moisés, Ia., April 5.- A United Statea Marshal and posse were flred on Thursday írom a dense thicket of hazel brush whlle in the act of evloting a farmer named BJake from the Litchfleld lands, better known as the Des Moines river lands, sixteen miles from Webster City. Probably íorty shots were fired by as many anned Bettlers, but the marksmanship was either poor or the range was intentionally wide, f or none of the deputies were hurk The posse had a number of writs, but as they were only armed with revolvers they did not attempt to serve them, and retreated good in order.
