Many Houses Burned

Chicago, May 9.- Twenty-fiye acres of ground closely built np with small dwelllng houses were swept by flre lu the suburban yillage of Moreland last evening, and seventy families are rendered hoineless. The loss Is almust ontirely by the laborlng class. Many of the houses were owned by men wko worked in the car-shops and who were paylnfr for them In monthly installments. It Is belleved that, the re origlnated fxom stuinps of oigarettes thrown lnto a pew in the Presbyterian church by some boys who had g-ained udmlttano through an open window.
