Chicago, May 23.- The mysterious disappearance of Dr. P. Cronin, of this city, on Saturday nicfht, May 4, was cleared up yesterday, his dead body being discovered by a gang of laborera at 6 o'clock in a catcb. basin at the northeast corner of Fifty-ninth Btreet and Evanston avenue, Lake View. There were six deadly wounds on the head, including three skull fractures. Twentyfive of Dr. Cronin's friends identiiied tho body, whieh was badly decomposed. There ia nopositive trace of the niurderer, fchough theories are plentif ui. Chicago, May 25.- The interior of atenantless cottage at 1,872 North Ashland avenue was searched yesterday and f ound to be smeared with blood in many places. The pólice think it is the spot to whieh Pr. Cronln was decoyed and niurdered on the night of May 4 last. The cottage was occupied at that time by two inen who have since disappeared. Chicago, May 27.- Several arrests in connectton with the murder of Dr. Cronin wers made on Baturday. The funeral of the murdered man took place yesterday and ■was largely attended. Chicago, May 28.- Daniel Coughlin, the detective, and Patrick O. Sullivan, the Lake View ice dealer, were both arrested yesterday npon a warrant sworn out by John Joseph Cronin, tlie brother of the murdered physician, charging them with the crime ot murder. It is said that Sullivan has made a f uil confesaion and has given to the pólice the names of every one he knew that was Implicated in the murder of Dr. Cronin.
