City Clerk Baoh and wife Sundayed at Howell. Geo. R. Haviland returned Saturday from Gogebic. Mrs. F. A. Howlett has been spending a week at Chelsea. Gilbert Edwards, of Brooklyn, is visiting W. W. Wine?. Prof. Kempf is at Detroit today taking in the musical festiavl. Mrs. H. Woodward left Monday for Detroit to spend several weeks. Eli W. Moore returned home Saturday night from a pusiness trip to Iowa. Col. Bowerj, lst Regt., M. S. T„ of Ypsilanti, was in the city Sunday. Mrs. F. B. Blanehard, formerly Mrs. T. L. Burleigh, is visiting in the city. C. M. Hatch, of Boston, spent several days this week with his cousin, C. S. Millen. Earl Knight,ol Detroit, has been spendine several days with his parents in the city. Charles Fortner, of Boston, is visiting his auut, Mrs. S. (i. Benthan, on Liberty street Henry Schlemmer, of tbia city, is pending a few weeks with relatives in East Saginaw. Mrs. C. M. Hill, of East Saginaw is visiting her mother, Mrs. E. A. Spencp, on Division-st M. C. Sheehan expects to remove to Ishpeming next week where he will open a dentist office. Dr. Fred Weir leaves Saturday for New York. When he returns Mrs. Weir (?) will accompany hitn. Major Ransom, of Lansing, deputy road commissioner of Michigan, was a visitor at Ann Arbor last Thursday. Congressman Allen was in the city Tuesday eveuing, but the postoffice a?pirants didn't get any satisfaction from him. J. R. Miner, Z. Roath, J. L. Stone and R. H. Cuthbert went to Strawberry lake Saturday. They have returned and are telling big fish stories. E. A. Clark, of Hasting, has been spending several days with his brother-inlaw, W. F. Stimson. "Allie" ia well acquainted here, having spent several years in the employ of Watts' jewelry store. Regent Whitman spent last Thursday and Friday working in the '.nterest of the University bill Judging from the large vote that the bill received in the house of representatives he must bave done his work well. Frank Wagner, who has been ín the employ of the Thompson-Houston electric lieht company in Mexico for some time past, is expected home this week. He has left the employ of the company and is now pushing several valuable electrical patenta of hU own invention. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Jennings of Ann Arbor, are visi'.ing Wm. Crosby of the executive office. Mr. and Mrs. Jenningg gradúate from the State University this spring, and next raonth go to Germany, to complete a course of studies, remaining there two years. Mrs. Jennings is Mr. Crosby's niece, and a lady of rare ability. - Lansing Republican.
