On June 30, 1839, August Hutzel and his wife, a sister of the late Emanuel Mann, were united in marriage, in the then small village of Ann Arbor. Mr. and Mrs. Hutzel have been spared to enjoy half a century of wedded lite in the place where they were married, and last Sunday being the anniversary of the event they celebxated their golden wedding by a family reunión, at the ree idencs of their son, Herman Hutzel, on W. Huron-st. There are eight sons and daughters living, who were all present with their families, excepting one grandson who is in Manitoba. The number of direct descendant, who gathered at the celebration was just 50, one for each year of tbeir wedded life. Four gecerations were represented, Mr. and Mrf, Hutzel, their chilÜren, grand-children, and one great-grahd-child. Besides these five son?-in-law and two daughters in-law were on hand, making a family of 57 per8OD8 who sat down to the table. Mr. Hutzel has spent nearly Lis whole life in Ann Arbor and has been one of the most influential Germán citizens, in business, social and churc}i circles. He and hip estimable wife have raised a family of whom they may feel proud, nearly all of thetn being íesidents of this city. The children are Herman and Titus Hutzel, Who have succeeded their father in busiDese ; M-s. Sophia Spring, Mrs. Fred Wui8ter, ' Mrs. E K. Frueauff, and Miss Charlotte Hutzel, of this city ; Mrs. Charles Steiubaoh, of Chelsea; Mrs. Heriry Heim, of East Saginaw.
