Death Of Simon Cameron
Lancaster, Pa., Juno 27.- General Simón Cameron died at his home in Donegal, Lancaster County, at 8 o'olock last evening, aged 90 yeara. Mr. Cameron was bornnear the place where he died. He flrst entered polltical life In 1845, when he was elected United States Senator, and waa re-elected in 1856. When Mr. Lincoln f ormed his Cabinet he made Mx. Cameron Secretary of War. In ltjfi'J he was appointed Minister to Eussla, but returned to the United States the same year. He was re-elected to the Senate in 18B0 and again in ÏSTJI. In 1877 he resiffned his seat, which is now held by hls son, J. Donald Cameron. Harrisburo, Ta, July 1.- The funeral of General Simon Cameron took place yesterday. The services were of a plain character.
