On Sunday morning, Rev. Samuel Earp preaohed his fourth annual sermón as rector of St. Andrews church in this city . His address was filled with interesticg statistica regarding the work done during uthe past year, during the four years, and ■Aa the Hobart Guild. The church has prospered greatly under the rectorship of Dr. Earp, through his untiring efforts and ceasele6s work. From being $3,000 or $4,000 in debt when he carne here, the parish now stands clesr ot debt and has made many costly improvements. In number of communicants it has gained over 100. The work here has consisted really of such work as should be done in two parishes, a student's parish and a citizen's parish. In the 129 parishes in this diocese, there are only 45 that have baptised more in the past year than Dr. Earp has baptised among the studente; only 31 that have confirmed more or accepted more to communion than St. Andrews church aas among this class. The report of his work during the year jast closed presented the following figures: Number of Sunday services, 214 ; number of week-day services, 282; total, 496; number of sermons and lectures, 195; number of families in the parish, 238; number of persons in the parish, 712; number of communicants, 404; number added during the year, 62; number of baptisms, 41 ; number of confirooations, 32; number of marriages, 18; number of burials, 20; number of Sunday-school scholars, 306; number of Bible-class scholars, 200 ; number of visits to families, 2,047 : Offerings and contributions ; for parish purposes, f 8070.41 ; for diocesean purposes, $793.26; for extra diocesean purposes, $265 58; balance on hand, $84.01 ; total, $9213.26. The amount of work done during Dr. Earps four years' rectorship was summarized as follows : Number oL public services, 1348 ; sermons and addresses, 913 ; baptisms, 173 ; confirmations, 142 ; communicants added, 316; marriages, 55; burials, 72 ; pastoral visitations, 7153 ; pastoral engagements, 408 ; amount of offerings and contributions, $30,781.72. Regarding the useful work of the Hobart Guild, tbe rector furnished the following : Number of members, 276 ; average [ number daily using the gymnasium, 125 ; average number daily usrag the library, 75 ; average number attending socials, 150 ; students under church infuence, 300; student communicants, 92 ; students baptised 9 ; students conflrmed, 13 ; average number of Btudents attending Sunday morning services, 100 to 200; average number of students attending evening bible lectures, 50 ; number of students engaged in mission work, 15 ; number of students expecting to enter the ministry,4.
