At G:30 Monday evening, July 8, 1889, at the residence of the bride's parents, 173 Cüfford-st. Detroit, James H. McDonald was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Ireton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. I. N. Blanchard, of St. Johns Episcopal church, and was witnessed by about fifty friends and relatives of the contracting parties. After the guests had partaken of a bounteous repast, the happy couple left on the night boat for Mackinaw, and will make a tour of the upper lakes, returning about August 1, wben they will be at home to their friends at 87 Duffield-st. Mr. McDonald isa gradúate oftheliterary department, U. of II., '70, and in law, '78, and has practiced his profession in Detroit for the past ten years, where he has become well and favorably known. Miss Ireton has taught a number of years in the Franklin school where she will be missed by nany to whom she has endeafed herself by her kind andaffectionate disposition and strict attention to her duties. Ypsilanti is bound to be a place of note as a health resort if holes in the ground and mineral wells will make it so. The proprietor of the Follett House, Thomas Mathias, now proposes to sink a mineral well in the rear of his house, and thus be in shape to compete with his up-town brethren.
