Mrs J. R. Miner is away for the suinmer and during her absence John R. has been boarding at Mrs. Root's, on Huron-Bt. Yesterday morning he arĂ³se early, picked up the morning paper and started for breakfast, glancing over the newa as he walked along. As he reached his destination, as he supposed, he noticed that the house was not opened and sat down on the porch, opened up his paper and became interested in the morning newa. After sitting there for a couple of hours or less, Mr. Miner began to grow a little anxious about the breakfast and wondered what made them so late in getting it ready. Jast about the time Mr. Miner was thinking of forcing his way into the house, Judge Harriman came walking down the street and asked John R. what he was sitting there for. The genial supervisor retorted that he was waiting for his breakfast and didn't know what made his landlady so late. About that time, the door behind Miner opened and C. II. Richmond made his appearance. Miner looked at him bewildered for a minute, then grasping the situation bolted into the next house to eat a breakfast which had grown cold while he was waiting for it on Mr. Richmond's porch.
