T, July 20.- The convention on Friday referred to the eommittee on finance a resolutioa declaring that the State should aesume all county indebtedness which existed on July 1, 18S9, less tho ralue oi public improvements in eaoli county. ïhe irrigatlon committee was direoted to prepare a memorial to Congress asking tha all arid lands in the State be granted to Montana forstorage basins. Delégate Lima introduced a resolutlon declaring every natural stream in the State not heretofore appropriated the property of the public, and givlng corporations and individuals right of way across any landa in 4he State for the construotion of irrigating ditches upon payment of just coropensation. T., Jirly ÜO. - An almoat endless dtscussion resulted in fixing the term of office of the five Supreme Judges at siz yeara and the twelre Superior Judges at tour yeara The number of justices of the peace is to be determined by is Legislature. In all towns of over 5,000 they will be paid by ■alary. The Balarles are fixed at $4,000 for Supreme bench, payable by th State, and 13,000 for Superior Judges, payable half by the district and half by the State. It is practically settled by the committee on corporatiens that a clause will be inserted in the constitution forbidding the granting of subsidies of any kind f rom counties or towns to railroads or other corporationa Oltmpia, W. T., July 22.- The judiciary system of the new State is practically establiahed, as the convention on Saturday agreed in committee of the whole co report the system of the judiciary committee as amsnded. It provldes that Judges of tha Supreme Court shall be chosen at the general State election, the term to besix yeara. Bismarck, N. D., July 2a- President Fancher has received a telegram from Elliott F. Shepard and General O. O. Howard, of the American Sabbath Union, asking that the following or a similar provisión ba Incorporated in the new constitution : "No work or trade shall be carried on on the flrst day oí tho week, usually called Sunday, except such as may be strictly obarltable or necessary, ar.d the Legislature shall past laws regulatlng and encouraging the observance ol the Holy Sabbath by all the people." Sioux Faixs, 8. D., July 2i- The only business tran6acted by the convention Monday was the passage of a resolution instructing that the joint committee on the part of South Dakota, in case of any uncertainty as to the location of the seventh standard parallel, the bouudary line between the Dakotas as fixed by the omnibus bill, to coma to the Dest possible agreeraent with the commisslon of North Dakota and report to this convention. It is reported that in case the joint commiBsion fails to agree the President will admit the Dakotas without a full settlement and refer the matter to Congress.
