Miss Flora Storms is visiting in Detroit. Judge Kinne returned home Satorday. Miss Genevieve Kittredge is visiting at Mason. Prof. Greene and family leave today for Boston. W. H. Butler, of St. Clair, is visiting in the city. Fr. Coyle, of Detroit, was in the city last week. Chas. Dietas, of Detroit, spent Sunday in the city. Eugene Koch etarted Monday for Mackiaaw. Miss Lois T. Angelí is visiting friends at Geneva, N. T. Mail carrier O'Hearn is taking a vacation this week. Miss Sophta Schmid is spending a week at Manchester. Miss Florence Foster returned Tuesday f rom Toledo. A. L. Noble has been confioed to his house this week. Augustus Butler, of Allegan, has been visiting friends here. R. C. McAUister, oí Manistee, is visiting his parents in the oity. Miss Jennie Wines has gone to Howell to spend a couple of weeks. Miss Mary Bischoff has returned from a two weeks' visit at Detroit. Wellington Tate retnrned Monday from a visit at Detroit for a week. Prof. Dorrance Ieft for the Chenaux Island summer resort, last Friday. Frank Feiner returned home Sundaji from a visit with friends in Detroit. K. Kittredge and family are spending the week ia camp at Whitmore Lake. Mrs. William Stauch and children, of Detroit, are visiting relatives in the city. Miss Viva Cornwell has gone to Petoskey, in company with Ypsilanti friends. Warren Wadhams is taking his vacation and spending a couple of weeks at Dexter. Ernest Lutz, of the Savings Bank, is spending his vacation at Whitmore Lake. The Two Sams - Blitz and Langsdorf - were in Detroit on Monday and Tuesday. Israel Hall is very ill and during the past week his recovery has been doubtfuL John R. Miner returned from two weeks' camping at Strait's Lake, Monday. Frank Cornwell started Monday to spend six weeks at eastern summer resorts. Mrs. M. E. Cooley and children Ieft Thursday night for Fairport, N. Y., to visit her father. Prof. O. 0. Johnson started this morning for Denver, Col., expecting to be gone about a month. John Schleeh returns to his desk at Wahr's bookstore today afterhaving spent a week in Detroit. Miss May Payne, of Nashville, Tenn., who has been visiting Miss Carrie Watts, Ieft for home Monday. E. S. Cushtnan and wife start next Tuesday for Minnesota, where they will visit about four weeks. Mrs. W. W. Watts and Miss Florence Benham Ieft this morning to visit their sister in Grand Rapide. Mrs. E. B. Norris and children returned Saturday evening from Manchester, where they have been visiting. Louis Frank has been visiting his uncle in Detroit during the past two weeks. He returned home Monday. M. J. Fritz, Chase Dow, T. F. Hutzel and C. B. Davidson drove out to Rush lake last Saturday night. Geo. H. Pond spent several days last week at Whitmore Lake. Look out for a fresh stock of fish stories. Major Soule and daughter Ieft Monday for Topioabee, Mrs. Soule having started for the same place last Friday. Mrs. W. G. Doty and son Ralph returned from Manchester, Saturday, and the probate register is happy again. Miss Katie Jacobs and her brother Charlie, are spending the week at the Clifton House, Whitmore Lake. Jas. A. Robinson and wife, oí Detroit, carne to Ann Arbor, Sunday, to spend a couple of weeks with his parents. G. Josenhans has returned to Mack & Schmid's after spending his two weeks' vacation with his father, in York. Miss Pauline Schmid, with J. J. Tuomey & Bros., of Jackson, spent the past week with her parents in this city. Miss Ora Royce returned Friday from the Cooper Institute, New York, where ibe has been pursuing her art studies. Miss Nellie Cheever, who has been at Hancock and Houghton for the last four months, returned home last Monday. "Toph." Sohmid and wife, of Chicago, are expected in the city next week. Mrs. Schmid will spend the summer here. M. M. Steffy is roaming around through several states, and will end his vacation about Aug. 1 by a trip around the lakes. Frank H. White, of Milbank, D. T., a former Ann Arbor boy, is in the city visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. K. White. Mrs. Dr. C. H. Johnston and children, of Grand Rapids, are spending the summer with her sister, Mrs. T. J. De Forest, of Geddes. J. Max Davis and family drove across the country yesterday to Ann Arbor, for a visit with friends in that city. - Fenton Independent Julius V. Seyler sailed from Antwerp, Belgium, last Saturday, on the steamer "Noordland," and expects to arrive home about Aug. 1. Z. Roath and C. S. Fall found time to enjoy the beauties of camp-Iife at Strawberry lake, between Saturday morning and Monday noon. Dr. J. C. VVood was called to Charlotte, Tuesday. While there he performed one of the most dimcult operations known to medical science, for a Charlotte party. John H. Remick and wife carne up from Detroit, Sunday, and stayed a couple of days this week with his mother, Mrs. C. K. Remick, on Catherine-st. Miss Clara Doty, with her cousin, Miss Mamie McLouth, of Brookings, Dak., have gone on a trip Eaat, visiting friends in Nw York, New Haven and New Britain. D. C. Fall and O. E. Mutchel, with their families, returned from their annual camping-out at Whitmore Lake, Monday. They report an excellent time and splendid fishing. Mrs. Chas. L. Allen was called to Rockwood, Mich., last Thursday by the death oL her mother. She will spend a couple of months visiting her family before returning home. Aaron Henion and family, including Mrs. Dr. Dunstan and children, of Cleveland, O., and Mr. and Mrg. Joe Williams and little daughter, epent Tuesday at Whitmore Lake. Hon. E. P. Allen was in the city last Friday. He had with him a list of names in which the republicans of this city are deeply interested, the list which decides who is to be postmaster. Albert Mann arrived home from bis western trip Tuesday night While away he managed to take in all the sights wortn 8eening in the west and north-weet. Mrs. Dr. Kapp, her childreu Leo and Ruth, and a neice, Miss Alvord, of Battle Creek, haTe been enjoying the fresh air of Whitmore Lake and the excellent board of the Clifton House during the past week. A. H. Holmes and family, Mr. and Mrs. Professor Briggs, of Grand Haven, and Rev. Thomas Holmes, D. D., of Chelsea, with the family of A. Wilsey and the senior editor ot The Register, who are now camping at the lake, are indulging in a big fish dinner there today. It is probably lucky for them that they are not depending entirely on fish to satisfy the cravings of their appetites on this occasion.
